It will come as no surprise to many of you that one of the blogs that I read regularly, and the one I consulted as I made some changes to the Adsense and Chitika methods I have used at The Dividend Guy and this site is Problogger.net I find it both inspiring as well as insightful as in his advice to people trying to make some money off of the internet.

For me, web business is not my primary form of income. I have a career as an HR professional with a large global oil and gas company. I do very well with this company and love my job. I also am very involved in the building of a dividend-paying investment portfolio, as you can see at The Dividend Guy. I do the web stuff because I enjoy it and because I seem to be able to make a bit of money at it.

What are my goals with this you ask? I have kept it pretty simple because I find that simple goals are easier to keep than complex ones. Here are my web goals:

To earn an average income of $5 per day (~$150 per month) by December 31, 2006

How I am going to this will change as I experiment and try new things that I learn from other successful bloggers and web business experts. This weekend has been spent on attempting to optimize my Adsense and Chitika spots on The Dividend Guy and this site. One other thing I need to try to do is regularly post on these two sites and comment on other sites like it. I would really like to work on AlbertaTourist.com. I will leave that for another post.
